Here Comes the Shootout...
Ties have been, for me, both the most frustrating and yet most intriguing things about hockey. They will now be a thing of the past. Though I can't argue with the added excitement theory, I still think it stinks for a team to play hard and earn a tie, only to lose in a shootout. It's a little like a free throw contest deciding a basketball game... Fortunately, there will still be points awarded to the overtime loser - shootout or not.
